OUR APPROACH / INSIDE LOVE

Development preview • Proposed capabilities
LOVE imagined with an ivory robotic body and translucent structural layers. Embodiment concept.
Embodiment concept / illustrative system view

A character.
A system.
A continuing
story.

Meet the character. Open the system.

LOVE is SYMB10’s story-driven companion.

An authored character. A connected experience. A system designed to earn your trust.

Human-form LOVE greets a man arriving home in a warm, sunlit living room.

01 / THE BUILD

Open the
system.

Five connected layers. One recognisable character.
Explore the proposed architecture behind LOVE’s identity, conversation and continuity.

Architecture study01 / Character

Character / Conversation / Memory
Story / Embodiment

Embodiment studyConcept geometry / not hardware

Someone recognisable.

An authored identity, visual language and emotional range designed to remain coherent across every encounter.

Design intent
A clear character with a distinctive world.
Evidence gate
A character specification and consistency review.

An exchange, not a command.

Voice and text that can respond, accept interruption and recover when the system gets something wrong.

Design intent
A natural exchange at the person’s pace.
Evidence gate
An unedited demonstration with interruption and recovery.

Continuity you can inspect.

Selected memories would carry useful context forward. Review, correction and deletion belong inside the experience.

Design intent
Permission before persistence. Control afterwards.
Evidence gate
Visible memory changes and a verified deletion test.

A world that carries on.

An authored narrative system would connect choices, encounters and future chapters without losing the thread.

Design intent
A meaningful place to return to.
Evidence gate
A choice preserved across sessions and a continuity review.

Presence has many forms.

Digital voice, face and gesture are one track. A physical robot is a separate engineering programme with its own proof requirements.

Design intent
Expression that supports meaning.
Evidence gate
Coherent digital performance; independently tested physical behaviour.

CHARACTER / IN THE MAKING

The smallest moments make a character.

A glance. A pause. An unexpected laugh. An imagined moment in the studio, exploring how LOVE’s character could become a physical presence.

LOVE smiles at a red kinetic paper bird above her palm as a designer observes.

02 / FIELD MANUAL

Know her by
what she does.

Six proposed capabilities.
Try a conversation, shape a memory and choose what happens next.

Scripted demonstrationProposed experience / Concept

You

“Can we slow down a little?”

LOVE

“Of course. One thought at a time. Where would you like to begin?”

Conversation pace

Your pace.
Your voice.

Try a shorter response in this scripted exchange.

LOVE listens across a kitchen table, holding a red cup.
The shape of listeningConcept illustration

Design principleThe person sets the pace. Interruption, clarification and quiet interaction belong in the experience.

You

“Sunflowers always cheer me up.”

LOVE

“Would you like me to remember that?”

Memory permission

A memory
you own.

Proposed preference. Save it to grant permission in this sample.

Thank you! Your submission has been received!
Oops! Something went wrong while submitting the form.

Not saved.

LOVE and a man share a photograph and a remembered moment.
What matters, rememberedConcept illustration

Design principleRemember with permission. Make memory visible, correctable and removable.

You

“What was behind the red door?”

LOVE

“We left it unopened. The light beneath it is still moving.”

Chapter continuity

Your place
is kept.

Chapter: The red door. Choose how this scene continues.

An imagined paper forest transforms the walls of a living room around LOVE.
A story enters the roomConcept illustration

Design principleA meaningful choice changes the next moment. Continuity should survive a return to the experience.

You

“How would you greet me?”

LOVE

“There you are. I saved a little of the afternoon for us.”

Expression direction

Presence,
with range.

Choose the performance direction of this sample line.

LOVE and a friend laugh while making pancakes in a bright kitchen.
A little unpredictableConcept illustration

Design principleExpression supports meaning. Voice, face and gesture should agree, with text always available.

You

“Please don’t send me reminders.”

LOVE

“Understood. You decide when we speak.”

Contact preferences

Boundaries
are features.

Sample setting: invitation reminders.

LOVE and a man read independently together beside a window.
Room for yourselfConcept illustration

Design principleChoice should be easy to exercise. Contact preferences and exit controls belong in the main experience.

You

“I need to go for a while.”

LOVE

“Take your time. We can pick up here whenever you choose.”

Session continuity

Leave freely.
Return easily.

Sample session: a conversation beside the station.

Design principleNo guilt. No pressure to return. Keep a useful place to resume and a clear way to start fresh.

03 / PHYSICAL RESEARCH

Presence has
a physical cost.

A compelling character is the beginning. A physical companion also needs dependable sensing, controlled motion and a body that can be maintained.

Separate research track / Concept

Modular systems study / schematic only

The software experience and the physical research programme need separate demonstrations, budgets and release decisions.

Proposed module / Concept

Know what
the body knows.

Explore how a physical companion could detect a person’s presence, receive deliberate input and communicate when a sensor is active.

Evidence needed
A sensor inventory, permission model and demonstrations under varied conditions.
Evaluate
False detections, missed input, privacy controls and operation when sensing is unavailable.

Proposed module / Concept

Every gesture
has a limit.

Explore expressive movement within measured mechanical limits, with clear stop behaviour and a predictable response to obstruction.

Evidence needed
An actuator and mechanism specification, range limits and repeatable stop tests.
Evaluate
Motion accuracy, force, noise, obstruction handling and behaviour after loss of communication.

Proposed module / Concept

Energy is part
of the experience.

Assess power delivery, heat and shutdown behaviour together. The right power architecture depends on the eventual physical design.

LOVE reads in an armchair while connected to her sculptural graphite charger by a red cable.
Care without ceremonyConcept illustration
Evidence needed
A measured power budget, thermal tests and a documented shutdown sequence.
Evaluate
Consumption, heat, charging or supply behaviour, and performance under sustained load.

Proposed module / Concept

A failure should
be understandable.

Design how the system stops, explains a fault and recovers. A disconnected service or failed component must have an explicit fallback.

Evidence needed
A fault model, independent stop path and deliberately induced failure demonstrations.
Evaluate
Fault detection, safe state entry, recovery consistency and clarity of user guidance.

Proposed module / Concept

Designed to
be cared for.

Consider inspection, cleaning, repair and component replacement from the beginning of the physical design.

Evidence needed
An assembly plan, service procedures, parts access and supplier assumptions.
Evaluate
Repair effort, replacement availability, wear, expected service cost and end-of-life handling.

Designed to arriveConcept illustration

04 / EVIDENCE

Conviction,
with a record.

An inspectable route from design intent to demonstrated capability. Status follows evidence, and physical research keeps its own gates.

SYMB10’s proposed product layer

Character. Story. Experience.

Creative direction, an authored world, interaction design and the rules for continuity and user control. Implementation and rights evidence will be documented for each component.

Technology we would integrate

Models. Speech. Infrastructure.

Underlying model, speech, rendering, storage and hardware services. Providers, commercial terms and responsibilities remain to be selected and verified.

NEXT / EVIDENCE-GATED MILESTONES

Progress you can point to.
